The Boss arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence

On Behalf of | Feb 12, 2021 | Uncategorized

At 71, Bruce Springsteen is still going strong, playing concerts and staring in commercials. He is famous for his healthy lifestyle, including no drug use and limited drinking, which is as a result of the negative effects of drugs and alcohol he saw in his own father’s life. This is why it was such a shock Wednesday when news broke that the Boss was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving last November.

Arrested at Gateway National Recreation Area

According to the National Park Service, the legendary rocker was charged with consuming alcohol in a closed area, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving on Nov. 14. But, the public was only made aware of the arrest Wednesday by a report from TMZ. The arrest reportedly occurred at the New Jersey national park, known as the Gateway National Recreation Area or Sandy Hook, but no details of the incident itself have been released.

Jeep halts ad campaign

After news of the DUI arrest went viral, Jeep released a statement that it was pausing their national campaign with Mr. Springsteen. Readers already likely saw the first ad this past Sunday during the big game. However, that viewing may be the last as even the ads on Jeep’s website have been pulled. As of Thursday, there is no indication what this pause means for Mr. Springsteen and whether it will affect any compensation package.

What can we learn from this?

For most of us in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, we think that a drunk driving or DWI charge is impossible. Surely, we can avoid any run in with criminal law. Unfortunately, the Boss has shown us that, even the best of us, can face a charge. It could be as simple as drinking with friends at a campsite that brings in the law, but a call to an attorney can help mitigate any negative affects a DWI charge may have on one’s life.
